Privacy Policy

Crisp processes your photos and videos entirely on your Mac. They are never uploaded, and there is no analytics or telemetry of any kind in the app.

Last updated: 28 July 2026. This page describes what the software actually does — it was written against the shipping code, not from a template.

Your media never leaves your device

Every operation — upscaling, low-light repair, montages, split screen, exports — runs locally using models bundled with the app. Crisp has no upload endpoint and no server that receives your files. You can verify this by running Crisp with networking disabled: everything except licence activation and update checks continues to work.

There is no analytics or telemetry

Crisp contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no usage tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party scripts. Nothing reports which features you use, which files you open, or how often you launch the app.

The only times Crisp contacts the internet

There are exactly four, and each is listed with what is sent:

If you never activate a licence and decline updates, Crisp makes no outbound connections at all beyond the update check, which you can block at the firewall without affecting editing.

What is stored on your Mac

Your licence key and activation record are stored in Crisp's application-support folder so you do not have to re-enter them. Your projects, media paths and preferences stay on your Mac. Deactivating your licence in the app removes the stored licence record.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Polar, our merchant of record. Crisp never sees or stores your card details. Polar's handling of your payment and contact information is governed by Polar's privacy policy.

Your rights

Because Crisp holds no account and no server-side profile of you, there is very little data to exercise rights over. For anything held by Polar in connection with your purchase (your email address, licence key and activation labels), you may request access, correction or deletion by contacting us at hello@crispvideo.app, and we will action it with Polar. Deleting a licence record ends your ability to use Pro features on that machine.

Children

Crisp is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated date above will change and the new version will be published here before it takes effect.
